Oldtimer from Swarovski

Mercedes Pullman 600. 1966

In 2007 collectors from Ekaterinburg «Autoretro» club brought the first Mercedes-Benz Pullman 600. In December 2008 the collectors cleared up its origin – they participated in Essen motor show and German specialists helped to find out the information. It turned out that the Pullman 600 was made on demand of Swarovski company, the world leader of production of ornaments from artificial crystal. The automobile was used by the company head office in Vienna and Daniel Swarovski’s heirs for more than ten years.

In the end of 1970ies it was sold to a Belgian businessman and than passed to a private German collection where it was kept till 2007.

The Mercedes-Benz Pullman 600 was a large luxury automobile and the first chic executive car. Two thousand two hundred models were delivered during the period from 1964 till 1981. The cars were delivered on demand of politics, businessmen and famous artists – Mao Zedong, Nicolae Ceausescu, Leonid Brezhnev, Aristotle Onassis, John Lennon, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley and even Pope.

The model purchased by Ekaterinburg club is distinguished by its unusual color – it is silvery grey meanwhile the traditional color for Pullman 600 was black (except the Pope’s one – it was painted white). The model is in A-1 condition.
