Kiev launched the Grand Antique Salon

Kiev –On September 5–14, the Grand Antique Salon, the most important event in the world of art and antiques of Ukraine was held. The exposition which took two floors of the Ukrainian House exhibition centre comprised the outstanding works of art and collecting objects from every corner of the globe. The exhibition’s gems were engravings by Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali and also Andre Lhote’s picture “Portrait”. Works by Dali and Lhote are exhibited in Ukraine for the first time.

The unique in its scale Antique Salon aimed to show a complete picture of the antiquarian market of the country and to stimulate its further development. Mainly art dealers and private collectors will provide works for the exhibition.

The hall of the Ukrainian House represents exhibits from private collections, including works by the artists of the Parisian school, Marc Chagall, Haim Sutin, Moise Kisling and Henri Epstein provided from the collection of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Feldman. One can see sculpture by Pablo Picasso, Jacques Lipchitz and Constantin Brancusi taken from the collection of the Head of the Supervisory Board of Credo-Classic insurance company Igor Voronov. Moreover, Antique Salon will display works from private collections of the Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko, the chairman of board of directors of the Industrial Union of Donbass Sergey Taruta and the Head of Natural Environment Protection Public Administration Alexander Prognimak. Both exhibition halls of the ground floor features the unique exposition of orthodox icon of the 16th–18th centuries, organized under the support of the Ducat antiquarian salon and the Art Invest Fund.

The exhibition area of the second floor represents the expositions of galleries which provided interesting collections of the diversified thematic and time trends. One can see painting, ancient sculpture, the Japanese furniture, and also unique Salvador Dali’s works which are exhibited at the stand of the Bosko gallery.
