Museum of calligraphy opens in Moscow

On August, 1 the first museum of calligraphy in Russia has opened on the territory of the Moscow recreation Sokolniki Park. Its exposition includes the unique items of Slavic, European and Oriental scripts, native and foreign books on calligraphies, rare copies of the hand-written editions issued in single circulations.

The collection consists of about 80 pictures by the artists-calligraphers of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, France, Israel, Syria, the USA, Japan and China. Moreover, visitors will have an opportunity to see works by the pupils of the famous calligraphers, those who adopted the skill of their teachers.

Today the museums of calligraphy exist all over the world. In Russia this project has no analogues.

The opening of the museum exposition will be dated for the big international exhibition of the calligraphy which will be held in Petersburg. The National Union of Calligraphers will be the organizer of the new Moscow project.
