Hermitage is justified

Inhabitant of St.-Petersburg Elena Malysheva lost a case against the State Hermitage. Notably, Malysheva demanded to admit closing of several halls in the Hermitage illegal, and wished to obtain for it material compensation at a rate of 100 000 roubles. However, in the course of court examination she was refused in satisfaction of a claim. Malysheva is going to appeal to higher degree of jurisdiction.

In her claim Malysheva accused the Hermitage management of law infringement «About museum fund». The trial was held in Dzerzhinsk court. She asserted that the fact of closing of expositions was without prior notification, and that impossibility to get to halls of «Primeval culture», «Culture of the people of Caucasus and Golden Horde», «Russian art interior of the XIX century» and «Art of Italy of the XIII-XVIII centuries» caused her moral damage.

Hermitage considered the claim by Malysheva absurd and noticed also that the information concerning closed halls is always given in museum information booths. Moreover, law on museum funds does not regulate staff of a permanent exposition.
