This exhibition is dedicated to the art of three geniuses of nonofficial Soviet art and their close friends. It will be the second exhibition project being organized by MacDougall’s.

The choice of central figures is not occasional. Each of these artists was not only the participant of historical collisions of modern art with Soviet government but also a vivid symbol of all its expressions.

Each of these artists is shown at the exhibition in all his bright sides oh their talent, especially Evgeniy Rukhin. There are thirty his works displayed at the exhibition. Mostly all of them are from French collection having been exhibited in 1975 when the artist was alive in the USA and then in 1980 in France. All the works displayed at the exhibition are from West private collections and were purchased either from the artist or from the members of his family. Among a series of assemblages by Rukhin of early 1970s there are his early landscape paintings and the composition named «Mouse Trap» which became the symbol of Leningrad nonconformism. A selection of works by Sitnikov includes one of his late masterpieces named «The Kremlin». The success of this artist at the contemporary art market was the result of MacDougall’s auction house in many things. Works by Kharitonov include his Middle Russian landscapes and symbolical compositions and graphic arts.
