Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara Spyder. 1935. Estiamte £600 000–800 000. H&H Classic Auctions. Chetlhem, February 27

On February 27 H&H Classic Auctions in Chetlhem will host the sales where a unique specimen is represented for those who are fond of vintage auto. It is sports car Alfa Romeo which was raced at Mille Miglia. Benito Mussolini was the owner of this auto in former times. He received it as a gift in 1935. This car is expected to be sold for £800 000 ($1 550 000).

Mulberry two-seater Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara Spyder was constructed especially for Mussolini. As H&H Classic Auctions representative says this car is a rare one: «It has never left Italy since being assembled and now it is in England and there is a chance to buy this historical property».

There are only 60 cars of Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara Spyder model. Collectors from all over the world have already shown their interest in this unusual lot.

Among the highlights there is one of the cars of British champion of world rallies Colin McRae who died tragically in helicopter wreck some months ago.

H&H will put up the 1992 Subaru Legacy J314 PWL for sale in which Colin McRae has won his second champion title in British rallies. It is estimated at £70 000–100 000.

Two lots of the auction in Chetlhem are connected with a famous name of Paddy Hopkirk, a winner of the Monte Carlo Rally (1964). Owing to him Mini model became a full sports car model.

The 1964 Morris Mini Cooper S CRX 90B was raced by Hopkirk and Henry Liddon in RAC. A year later it was raced by Don and Erle Morley in Monte Carlo. It is estimated at £40 000–50 000.

The 1967Morris Mini Cooper S OBL 45F became a match to Porsche 911 and Renault Alpine 110. Driven by Paddy Hopkirk and Tony Nash it was a winner in its class in Tour de France, 1969. It is estimated at £30 000–40 000.
