Armenian-French-Russian Avant-garde

Parisian galleries «Minotaur» (known for its passion for modern art) and «La Gaillard» are planning to launch interesting and important display devoted to the life and oeuvre of Leon Tutunjan, prominent avant-garde artist of the first half of XX century, one of the founders of biomorphic abstract painting. The exhibition titled «Abstraction 1925–1930» comprises rare and unique Tutunjan’s works, which will be of interest for both art experts and the wide public.

Retrospective exhibitions of Tutunjan’s artworks were held earlier in 1972 in Dallas and Innsbruck, in 1977 at the National gallery in Berlin and at the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris. In 1978, the artist’s works were displayed at the Museum of modern art in Paris; in 1979 at the Guggenheim museum in New York, in 1980 at the Westphal museum, in 1990 in Valencia.
«Abstraction 1925–1930» will be on view at «Minotaur» gallery through February 1 – March 10, 2007.
