Fashion Berlin photographs of 1930s

The Russian National Library in St. Petersburg presents a show «Fashion Berlin photos of 1930s», which will finish its work on November 11. The exhibition includes various materials from the collection of the Costume Library (Lippenheidische Kostuembibliothek) – a branch of the Arts Library in Berlin (Kunstbibliothek). In 2001 the show visited the Netherlands and Germany.

«Berlin photos of 1930s» features about sixty stylish pictures made by ten most fashionable and sought-after Berlin-based artists. Those photo works clearly reveal general art trends and tendencies in fashion-photo of that time – from traditional classic compositions at the Becker and Maas studio to experimental photographs by Imre von Santo.
