A world record price for a famous Ferrari

Ferrari Spider

A very rare 1967 Ferrari was sold for a world record price at an auction at Pebble Beach in California. The fast and beautiful 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 North American Racing Team (NART) Spider fetched a staggering £2,220,000 – the world record price for the model.

This unique two-seater car starred in the 1968 movie «The Thomas Crown Affair». At that time it was painted deep red, and was driven in the film by Hollywood legend Steve McQueen. The car-mad actor loved the 155mph 325bhp 3.3-litre machine so much that he ordered one for himself. The car, which is now pale yellow, was the first of only 10 made, and one of just two with light alloy bodies. The amazing Ferrari was purchased by a private American collector.
