Eccentric swan dress worn by Bjork at the 2001 Oscar ceremony

On-line celebrity fashion items sale will take place at internet auction site eBay through September 18–25. The proceeds from the event will go to charity fund Oxfam. The auction will feature items of clothing «with a story behind them» donated by many well-known personalities including Icelandic singer Bjork, designers John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, and singer and songwriter Patti Smith.

It is believed that the most interesting and sought after item at the sales will be eccentric swan dress worn by Bjork at the 2001 Oscar ceremony. This fashion piece, featuring an imitation swan’s neck draped around the neckline will surely attract attention of bidders. Among other highlights is a pair of sunglasses belonging to John Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono, a pair of fake leather boots from fashion designer Stella Mc McCartney and a motorcycle helmet used by Blur frontman Damon Albarn. The charity section at the coming eBay auction will comprise somewhat 150 celebrity garments.

The organizers of the charity event don’t know how much the presented items can raise, but believe that the sales will fetch quite a substantial amount of money.
