«California Landscapes» exhibition will be held at the Long Beach Museum of Art on June 3-August 21, featuring paintings, watercolors, photographs and ceramics, drawn largely from the museum’s permanent collection, supplemented by loans from artists and collectors from throughout Southern California.

Works of art dating from the turn of the 20th century to today, presented on the exhibition depict the unique beauty of the Golden State. Various paintings of quite different masters ranging from early California plein air painters and scene painters of the 1930-40s to contemporary artists’ works that both capture and respond to California’s unique urban and natural landscape will be exhibited at the Long Beach Museum of Art.

Among the artists represented will be Franz Bischoff, Elmer Wachtel and Marion Kavanagh Wachtel, William Alexander Griffith, Jean Mannheim, Dana Barlett, watercolorists Kirk Pedersen and Carl Aldana, photographer Tom Paiva, ceramists Tony Marsh and Steve Portigal and many others.
